Mission, Goals
& Strategy
Born in 1949 on the American East Coast, GANT has evolved from pioneering shirtmakers to a premium American Sportswear brand. For us, sustainability starts with our products. Our goal is to develop timeless garments from high-quality fabrics that are loved by consumers and designed to live a longer-lasting life.
Sustainability is the thread that runs through everything we do. The production and consumption of retail products and garments can cause environmental and social impacts throughout the entirety of its life cycle. Therefore, we aim to integrate sustainability aspects in all stages of our value chain to manage any potential impacts to people and the planet.

Climate
As signatories of the UN Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action and Fashion Pact, GANT are committed to aligning our climate targets with science. The production and extraction of raw materials used in our products makes up the biggest share of our climate footprint. Making timeless products of high-quality is an essential part of our climate strategy and we aim to reduce the climate footprint for every produced product by using more sustainably-sourced materials in accordance with the fiber staircase strategy. GANT works together with suppliers that use more sustainable production techniques in the manufacturing of products and fabrics. This is mainly focused on wet processes like washing and dyeing which are processes with significant use of energy and climate impact.
GANT has a climate target aligned with climate science. The target is:
- By 2030 GANT will reduce its climate footprint by 50% throughout all operations and achieve net-zero emissions no later than 2050.
